Winter 2008/09 homework

Courage player soccer homework for Winter 2008/09.
Each player needs to watch at least 30 minute of a college, pro, or international game on TV or in person, and then “report” their observations on the form provided. Assignments are due twice per month for December, January, February, and March. The player may submit two per month maximum, they cannot just do all eight at once and turn them all in. We want them watching current games over time, to get in habit of doing so.
The form intentionally does not ask for the types of things you could get just from finding a score on the internet, or even really from reading a story about the game in a newspaper. This will require the players to watch the game specifically looking for the things they need, and get them really thinking about the intellectual side of the game.
There are plenty of options for watching soccer on TV or over the internet. In addition to standard broadcasts over ESPN networks which most people already receive, there are subscription only channels, foreign language channels, and broadband channels over the web, and even Youtube as a last resort.
A full daily list of LIVE or Same-day soccer TV can be found at www.potomacsoccerwire.com in the left hand column. Most of those channels also show tape-delayed games from eariler in the week.
In short, there really isn’t an excuse to not be able to watch 60 minutes of soccer once a month somewhere. And my door is always open if you want to come here to watch.
