Bethesda Makes it Lucky Seven for Cardinals

The FC Virginia Cardinals defeated the United States Youth Soccer Region 1 Finalist, and 3-time Virginia State Cup Champion Chantilly Burn 1-0 Sunday to win the Bethesda Thanksgiving Tournament. The game winning goal was scored in the 8th minute of the match. In group play the Cardinals defeated the Region 1 Semi-finalist Quickstrike NY 1-0 and West Chester 2-1. In the semi final, the Cardinals defeated Lower Dauphin 1-0 in sudden death overtime. The defense did an excellent job conceding only 1 goal the whole tournament. The team will next be seen in action at CASL playing their first round of Red Bull matches.
