Synergy Advances to USCS National Finals
Jun 25, 2008
FCV Synergy won the Premier bracket at the US Club Soccer National Championship, Region B, this weekend in Pittsgrove, New Jersey. The team will now advance to the USCS National Finals being held in Virginia Beach, VA July 26-28.
Synergy started the weekend with a 3-0 win over the South Jersey Barons Banshees. The team then earned three more points when they pulled out a hard fought win over the Freestate Fury 93, a very familiar and very tough opponent of the Synergy. The bracket win came with the victory over Princeton SA Orange Crush who also stood undefeated at kickoff. Halftime proceeded with no score in the match. Very early into the second half Synergy got a left footed shot off on goal that seemed to bend it’s way into the net, taking the Princeton goalie by complete surprise, and putting the Synergy in an advantage position. With just two minutes left in the match Synergy scored again on a well placed corner that was dropped by the opponent’s keeper making a quick finish easy to an alert squad member. Final score: Synergy 2 - Princeton 0
Synergy takes the Premier bracket of Region B with three wins and now moves on to the USCS National Finals in Virginia Beach, VA. Games will be played on the pitch at the Hampton Roads Soccer Complex July 26-28. Teams from around the country will be in attendance promising some very good matches. Congratulations FCV SYNERGY.
