Rising U-16 FC Virginia Courage 94 Tryouts
Our official tryouts have concluded for the 2010-11 under-16 season. Thanks to all who attended, and expressed such a strong desire to play for our team. This was out largest tryout interest in the history of the team. We saw over 17 candidates, adding seven of them.
Our roster now stands at 18 players. We are technically able to take more, but would only do so for a very special player or two at this stage. If you feel you are that player, and are interested in joining our program for the fall season, please contact Coach Chris Hummer ASAP at 703-801-6020 or email chris.hummer@hummersport.com.

About the FC Virginia Courage
We are an elite u15 girls travel team playing in Washington Area Girls Soccer League (WAGS), Virginia State Cup, and top tournaments around the mid-Atlantic. Our players come from all over Loudoun and Fairfax County, VA.
We are coached by Chris Hummer, USSF "B" license holder and Assistant Director of Coaching for FC Virginia, one of the most elite girls clubs in United States, and one of only two Virginia clubs participating in the Elite Clubs National League.
We are are dedicated to fostering a superior technical and tactical approach to the game for our players that will give them all the tools they need if they choose to play college soccer in the near future, while also ensuring they love the game for a lifetime. We do this is a positive, friendly, but demanding environment, where the players are respectfully pushed to their limits in all areas of the game - technical, tactical, physical, and psychological - all while building what we hope are life-long bonds with each other and the coaches.
The team has been together since under-9, though we started in Sterling Youth Soccer for three years, before becoming part of FC Virginia and moving to Chantilly Soccer Club beginning with the under-12 year.
It is this team's goal for every player to have the opportunity to play in college at the highest level they desire - when the time comes. How many games we win or loose between now and then is far less important than this overriding purpose. With this goal however, comes the necessity to play at the highest level we can reach, both to improve, as well as gain acceptance to showcase tournaments where the girls can be seen by college coaches.
Our Membership in FC Virginia provides our players with amazing opportunities to learn from more than just one dedicated coach, as well as to be seen by more college coaches than if they were just on team on their own. As part of FCV, we gain automatic acceptance into certain showcase events, as well as participating in private college showcase events hosted among fellow ECNL clubs from the region. Our players are also eligible - and encouraged - to train and guest play with other FCV teams at showcase events, and even ECNL matches.
Every player also has access too and evaluations from the entire FCV professional coaching staff. This includes FCV President, Terry Foley, who has won 25 Virginia State Cup championships in 19 years, and regularly sends every single player from the oldest FCV teams to college - most with scholarships. It also includes our Director of Coaching, Cindi Harkes, former UVA star, professional player, and Virginia soccer hall of fame member.
The entire FC Virginia coaching staff are hired professionals, under the direction of the club, providing the opportunity for a diverse learning environment, as well as opportunities to be evaluated by many different sources, all with the same goal in mind - to push every FC Virginia player to reach their highest personal goals.
If you would like to be a part of our team, or any FC Virginia team, please contact us by email anytime.
