Ben grew up in the Northern Virginia area while playing his club soccer with Herndon Youth Soccer. He has been playing soccer for 26 years and has been coaching the game since graduating from Oakton High School in Vienna, VA in 1997. Ben played at NCAA Division I High Point University in North Carolina and was a four year starter for the Panthers. After a successful college career, Ben signed a professional contract with the Greenville Lions of the United Soccer Leagues (USL), where the team found great success in its inaugural season, reaching the National Championships in Salt Lake City, UT.
